The perfect fitted white tee shirt? (Pickwick & Weller)
posted by Colleen Shirazi on Sunday, May 26, 2013 at 10:11 PM (Pacific)

Could be.

This has been on my mind for a while (quite a while in fact). What do you really feel like donning, when you're not at work? Is it not a fitted white tee shirt? And, like everything else that ought to be omnipresent, it...isn't.

Easy enough finding not-"it" shirts: crappy construction, overly boxy, too short, too sheer, low-cut, or just too darn spendy.

This is Ashton Kutcher's company, apparently, and the tee shirts are designed and made in Los Angeles (yay!). (There is also a men's line o' shirts, replete with unshaven eye candy :D)

Definitely on my to-do list.

Nivea Invisible for Black & White deodorant review (preliminary)

nivea black and white deodorant
Been using this for about a month now. I got it from Alpine Village Cosmetics (as Smallflower was sold-out at the time). Delivery for Alpine... was quite swift; seemed like only a few days before I had this deo in my hand (along with a nice note in the package).

For about the first week I used it, I found it somewhat irritating actually. Not to the point of stopping, but I was speculating whether it would work out. Subsequent to that though, it's been fine. It smells pleasant, in a rather elegant-soap fashion (not overly strong), and applies smoothly. A bit softer than other deo-sticks I've tried...I've checked the container a few times to see if it's going quickly, but it doesn't appear to be.

Now the selling point here is its "black and white" compatibility. I don't wear a lot of black (haven't noticed deo marks on the darker shirts I have worn); the attraction for me is the thought of no yellow deo marks on white shirts. I Oxi-Cleaned my Oxi-Cleanable shirts prior to beginning this deo regime, and, at this early point, it does seem to reduce this.

Dryness: Nivea Invisible... doesn't offer the same arid 'pits as, say, Right Guard, but then that's not a big deal for me. I just want to smell nice and be comfortably dry.

Overall—it's good. I'll post an updated review later on (wondering just how no-deo-mark this stuff is over time).

16 shades of "nude"

nude barre swatches

What a lovely idea. There's a company called Nude Barre (online, with some b & m retailers) offering tights, fishnets, and sundry other products, in sixteen flavors of "nude." They'll also send you a full swatch, or whichever individual swatches you choose, for a nominal fee.
