Naturally, this song never hit the airwaves back home; the first Blondie record I can recall was "Heart of Glass," with "pain in the ass" edited out. The sheer bouyancy of this song is infectious. Law, like wine, is ageless. lol
These purport to be minimal cottony socks you tuck into your fancy pumps. Done right, they shouldn't show, but merely soothe your feet, particularly on hot days. Wonder if they're good at preventing feet from sliding forward in heels.
Not new foot technology, by any means, but new to my "dogs."
I'd love to try these! I don't want the black ones, so I noodled around on the Net for examples of how these look in color. Why do stockings sites always insist on showing these products only in black? What century do they live in?
Enter "What I Wore Today": Lioness
Is that brilliant, or what? She's got tons of stuff on that site; I've pulled it up numerous times whilst tracking down the odd item.Labels: internet, music, videos, wardrobe

Toe seam update
Re-attempted these cotton and nylon "franken-tights"--cotton top, woven to nylon legs, capped with cotton toes--with a pair of looser-fitting boots. The thickish toe seam was okay that way. Still not great with shoes which are at all tight, toe-wise, but should work with the majority of my shoes.
Sweet idea, but...
Here's a lovely thought, for those with paltry closet space: a reversible skirt. Instead of a skirt lined with plain material, you've one lined with a different skirt fabric. "One" of the skirts should also have a cool underlayer effect as a result (the longer skirt need only have a deep-enough hem).
Too bad it's poorly implemented here. The fabrics and patterns don't look nice (pictured above was the best of the lot), skirts are dryclean-only, and expensive ($98). Still fancy the concept, preferably using non-iron materials.
For the imaginative photography alone, this indie line is worth a shot (in fact I have one of her skirts on order).Labels: wardrobe

Both from The Sartorialist, which I do visit every now and again.
Putting aside the sheer gorgeousness of the bottom pic, I adore her blouse.Labels: internet, videos, wardrobe

This song was from 1973; not sure when the above live version was made (2001?). BTW they are showing the original English Life on Mars locally, and I'm digging it. It's great.
Back to these cotton and nylon tights--I received them what felt like the day after I'd ordered them, from the beautiful sockdreams.com.
Pros: These tights now come in dark brown as well as black...yay!...and the cotton top is brilliantly executed (very comfortable). They seem quite durable, and the synthetic leg feels thinner and lighter than a regular cotton-blend leg would.
Cons: The toe seam is too thick. It bugged me after a while, worn with my boots. It might be okay with looser-fitting shoes, but I would prefer a less-durable toe with a smaller seam, if it came to that.
Overall: Should be useful. Joe Bob says check it out.
Pangea Organics Body Wash review.
Hermmmmm...after reading several enthusiastic reviews of this product, I thought I'd give it a go. The price range is similar to that of The Body Shop.
First whiff: disappointment. I was expecting a sort of shower-gel-gasmic blast of ylang-ylang ecstasy (having gotten the Malagasy Ylang Ylang & Linden Flower potion). This smelled rather unisex: pleasant, nothing to write home about.
Using it though...after a while, it becomes oddly addictive. It just smells pure, as if the ingredients had been harvested and assembled that day. You need only a small amount to generate creamy lather, so it's quite economical as well.
Overall: Good stuff. I'm game to try the lavender/cardamom one later on.Labels: bath and body, music, sockdreams, videos, wardrobe

I've decided this is a keeper. Not that anyone actually likes wearing a strapless bra, beyond the obvious strapless aspect, but sometimes it's handy. I tried this one out, it stays up...the only complaint I have is they should make bigger cup sizes, on the logic of going down a band size and up a cup size. It's not a normal bra; no reason to carry only normal sizes.
Caved and got the J.Crew Jackie Shell, when my shade "Pearl" went on sale (pictured, albeit not particularly accurately).
Where the Jackie cardigan runs small--the "large" gapped at the bust on me, so I went for "extra large"--the Jackie shell runs big. The "large" in this is...large. I could probably wear a medium. I'd ordered the shell in both large and extra large, figuring it corresponded to the cardigan, but ended returning the XL and attempting to shrink the large in the dryer (which it did, pretty close to what I'd wanted).
J.Crew Tissue Pleated Top Yech! I may dress like a nun, but I'd like to think I'm a stylish nun. I got this in large; it was a tent, below the (too low-cut) v neckline. "Paris Pink" in real life is a couple of shades darker than its ethereal Web image. If you want this top, I would size down.Labels: jcrew, wardrobe
