Take me to heaven and back in a second

Me:
Hoodie: American Giant
Dress: Modaspia
Sandals: Arche

My daughter:
Jacket: US Army
Jeans: gifted
Shoes: Arche

Hey, we get to be tourists! You can also see why hoodies are endemic to the Bay Area: the winds felt as if to bluster us off the Headlands.

This was pretty cool (yes, I posted it on our work Slack):

How meticulously this has been preserved over, say, the past 530 years give or take. (Jacopo del Sellaio)

A bit tempting to speculate, how ladies of the era would consider our routine to "get out the door" these days. But how much has really changed?
Her: I can't take it, this hair is a fright.
Her friend: Not a problem, borrow my wig!

It's been real...

Your winter-garment of repentance fling...

Hoodie: C & C California
Shirt: UC Berkeley
Pendant: Iran
Jeans: gifted
Shoes: Prada
Bag: Dean Accessories

The Berkeley Pier, on an atypically balmy evening. Normally I'd be hunkered down within a leather jacket.

When it's still sunny, post-workday, I will resume taking work-wardrobe pics.

Sometimes notions get reversed / Centre of the universe

Hoodie and top: C & C California
Earrings: very old!
Jeans: gifted
random belt
Shoes: Arche
Bag: Dean Accessories

The art in the bottom pic is a sort of hexagonal rotating mix-and-match of heads, middles and bottoms. I recall an overweight Spiderman, a robot with a clear head, something involving a giant frog, a guy in an old scuba-diving suit, a dragon, and, I want to say a giraffe, though I'm not 100% sure.

Top: J.Crew boatneck painter tee (reviewed here)
Hoodie: American Apparel
Jeans: gifted
Boots: La Canadienne
Bag: Dean Accessories

I've owned this shirt for, ah, four years, apparently. It's held up remarkably well.

Was working with someone the other day, and realized he got the IBM Op Codes. It's a massive list, so I tend to pick a few at random:

BBD Branch on Bastille Day
DWIT Do What I'm Thinking
MAZ Multiply Answer by Zero
CAF Convert ASCII to Farsii
TRA Te Rdls Arvs [type ridiculous abbreviations]
TYF Trust Your Feelings

Lone cypress, baby!

Dress: J.Crew Shelby
Hoodie: H & M
Bag: Dean Accessories
Shoes: Arche

Long as I've been out here...erm, decades...only this year have I visited the Lone Cypress in Pebble Beach.

I can admit I was prepared for disappointment. Tourist attractions tend to the small, and tatty, when viewed up close. But the Lone Cypress possesses genuine magnificence. There it stands, soldiering on. They won't let you near it, have constructed a wall around it, brace the tree with cables...the venerable king in his castle.

At the beginning of the project, is when you know the least.*

ootd
Top: C & C California
Necklace: gifted (hard to see, but it's a neat glass pendant of various colors)
Jacket: big; incredibly warm
Jeans: Banana Republic
Bag: Dean Accessories
Boots: Cydwoq

It'll be nice when it's sufficiently bright after work for taking work wardrobe pics again. I really don't care for indoor pics, hence the cavalcade of casualness.

* Attended some Agile management training; it was mind-bending to say the least.

Random bag lust

...or is that love?

I actually need a small bag, and have been more than pleased with the Dean "Thimble" bag I already own. Dithering between the wallet-on-a-strap above, or the clutch:

...which purports to come with both a wrist and a long strap. sigh decisions...

I had just woken up from a nap on this lovely Veterans Day, and felt the usual warm gratitude. (Sorry for the cropped-ness—didn't care to capture the rubbish bin!)

A bit excited about the bag:

This is made in Los Angeles, and the leather has a sumptuous feel. It's not heavy despite the "thimble" hardware.

I have it in mind to get two bags; got an eye on this Vin Baker baby:

* Is it me? The most difficult aspect of wardrobe blog maintenance is titling the posts. A touching moment of the past week was reading some photocopied stuff from a shell scripting class I'm taking, where the guy explains that the "a" in a.out stands for "assembler"...and I was thinking, anyone can tell you that compiling a C source code file from a command line without specifying an object code filename will get you a file called a.out. But how many people would bother telling you what the "a" stands for?
